SEc. 5. That the said Trustees shall have power to appoint

may appoint, lists of taxable property of each individual in
said town, with the value attached thereto, and also a list of

a Marshal, & power to appoint a Marshal, whose duty it shall be to collect
his duty.   the taxes assessed on the taxable property and tythes in said
town, who shall take an oath for the faithful performance of
the duties devolving upon him as Marshal, aforesaid, and shall
give bond and approved security to the Trustees of said town
for the faithful discharge of his duties; and in the performance
of his duty, as Collector, he may distress as Sheriffs of this
Commonwealth, under therevenue laws, now do, and the said
Marshal shall pay over to the Chairman of the Board of Trus-
tees all moneys collected by him, to which the said Trustees are
entitled.
SEc. 6. That should the office of Trustee, Clerk, Assessor,
Vacancies: or Marshal, for said town, become vacant by death, removal,
howfilled.  or resignation, or any other cause whatever, it shall be the du-
ty of a majority of the Trustees remaining in office to fill
such vacancy, and the person filling such vacancy shall contin-
ue in office until the ensuing annual election.

CHAPTER 28.
AN ACT to chango the place of voting in an Election Precinct in Whitley
county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the place of voting in the Spruce pre-
cinct, in Whitley county, be changed from Nelson Jones',
the present place of voting, to the Spruce mill, at Will-
iam Tye's, and the elections therein shall be held and con-
ducted as now directed by law.
