1844                            CHAPTER 170.
AN ACT adding certain lots to the town of Cadiz.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Common.
wealth of Kentucky, That fractional lots number one and num-
ber twenty two, in Poston's addition, and one half of the street
bordering on said fractional lots, which was stricken from the
town of Cadiz, in the county of Trigg, by a special act of the
Legislature, be, and the same are hereby added to said town.
Approved, February 13, 1844.
CHAPTER 172.
AN ACT establishing a Warehouse and Tobacco Inspection in the City of
Covington, and at M'Afee's landing, in Mercer county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That there is hereby established a public Ware-
house and Tobacco Inspection in the City of Covington, and
also, at M'Afee's landing, in Mercer county, subject to the
laws now in force regulating Warehouses and Tobacco In-
spections.
Approved, February 13, 1844.
CHAPTER 173.
AN ACT for the protection of the bridges in the towns of Cloverport and
Stephensport, in Breckinridge county.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Com.
Noone to tra- monwealth of Kentucky, That the Trustees of the towns of
aVet wfasteron thanid Cloverport and Stephensport, in the county of Breckinridge,
bridges,    shall cause to be painted and placed up at the fronts or en.
trance, upon each of the bridges in said towns, a sign,
with plain inscription, directing that all persons shall travel
slow on said bridges; and if any person shall, after such signs
are so placed up at said bridges, travel on the same at a greater
Penalty,    or different rate than a walk, with any horse or carriage of any
kind, such person shall be liable to a penaltyof not less than one
nor more than five dollars, to be recovered in the name of the
Trustees of the town in which such bridge is situated, by war-
rant before any Justice of the Peace of said county, and which
fine shall be applied to keeping such bridge in repair.
SEC. 2. That if any person who shall violate this act shall
bea slave, or a white person apprenticed in the employment
Masterofslave of another, who is unable to pay the penalty imposed by this

manner directed in the first section.
SEC. 3. That if any person shall, hereafter, stop a wagon or
