QtAp. 1279,-AN ACT to amend the severti acts concerning the towns of karls
and Elizabethtown.                    1839
Smc. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Com.  BoUntday &(
Innuealth of Kentucky, That so much of the county of Bour. of Pas.
bon as is contained within the present bounds of the town of  lCorporate
Paris, as defined in the plan of said town, recorded in the powers, &e.
Clerk's office of the County Court of said county, shall be, and
is hereby, declared to be the town of Paris; and the Board of
Trustees thereof, as hereinafter constituted as such, and by
that name shall be capable of contracting and being contract-
ed with, of suing and being sued, of pleading and being im-
pleaded, of answering and being answered, in all matters what-
ever, and in all courts and places.
Stc. t. That the fiscal, prudential and municipal concerns  Name and

ceding their election. The said Trustees shall, after their elec-
tion, choose a Chairman from among themselves, who shall
preside at their meetings, and sign their orders; and, in case
of his absence at any meeting, a chairman, for the time being,
