CHAP. 464.-AN ACT for the benefit of Nancy Frankli, and her heirs.  1837.
Be it enacted by the Gencral Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the Mercer circuit court shall posscss juris-  Sale or real
diction to decree a sale of the real estate and slaves of the es.  authori.
tate orJames Franklin, deceased, upon a bill filhd by the widow
and heirs of said Franklin, if to said court it shall -appear that
such sale will redound to the benefit of said widow and heirs;
and the court shall have power to appoint a commissioner or
commissioners to carry said decree into effect; and may,
by such decree, order and direct the piocecds of said estate to
be laid out in the purchase of lands in some of the States,
or Territories, of the United States: Provided, In Faid decree,
that the widow of said Franklin shall be secured in dower in
the lands which may be purchased: Providcd, That said widow
shall yield her consent to said sale, and the investments of said
proceeds in lands as aforesaid: And provided furtlher, That it
shall be the duty of the said court to make such order requir-
ing security of said commissioners as they may deem proper.

CHAr. 465.-AN ACT to amend an at, entitled, an act for the benefit of the
county of Jefferson and city of Louisville, approved February I 111836.
Be it enacted by the General ./Jssernbly of the Commonviealth
f Kitntucky, That the county court of Jefferson county shall.
have power and authority to levy and collect such ad valorem
tax on the real estate within the exterior boundaryof the city
of Louisville, and not within the boundary, for taxation of said
city, as the said county court shall, from time to time, levy and
collect in other parts of said county, under the provisions of an
act, entitled, an act for the benefit of the county of Jeflerson
and city of Louisville, approved February 11, eighteen hun-
dred and thirty six.
