SEC. 1. Be it enacted  i the General s.esembly of Ihg Gem-
lonzecal/a of Kntucky, 'I hat the Register of the Land Of-
Register.  ice be, and he is hereby authorized and required to appoint
two competent Clerks tou assist him in the dutici of his office,
one of ,whom shall receive an annual saly of dx hundred dot-
lars, and the other an annual salary of four hundre.I dollars,
payable out of the Treasury, as in other cases of public offices.

be) that I will, to the best of my skill and ability, diligently
and faithfilly execute the dulits of a Commissioner for takilng

tiality; and I will diligently and laithfully make search ind
enquiry that no reison is passed over, or shall fail in giv-
inIg in his list of taxable propel ty; and will truly and faithful-
ly zeport all persons to ihe county court who shall f.til or re-
fuse to give in his or her li-t of taxable property, (,r who shall
refuse to add thtceto the value of emh uriiclc of taxable' prop-
erly, as required by law: so licip me God. And a certificate
of .aid cath, or ;.ffl maton, shall be made out by said clerk,inad

SE0. 2. Be it fitrther enacted, That each and every Com-
missioner, when he r-turns to the Clerk of the counly court
Toreportde. his alphabetical I;ook of Inxable prcperly, shall report in
conuen  to wiling to the county court the names (f all persons who shall
have omitted to render a list of their taxable property, or
,hall have rendered a hil.e and fraudulent, or imperfect list;
and also the names of all persons who shall have refused to add
t6 their lists of iaxable property tle value of each article
thereof, as prescribed by the fifth section of tie act, entitled,
an act to amend the revenue laws, approved, December  3,
1831 ; and if any person shall fail or refuse to add to his list
of taxable proFerty the value of each article thereof, as provi-
ded for by the existing laws, such person shall be fined and
