CzA?. 363.-AN ACT to extiend the powers of the Trustees of the  1834.
Town of Washington, in the County of Mason.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the
Commonwealth of Kentucky, ,That from and after the
first day of March next, the board of trustees of the Trustees au-
town of Washington, in the county of Mason, shall thorisedtogrant
have power and authority to grant licenses to keep tavern licenses.
taverns, groceries, coffee-houses, and all such other
houses of public entertainment, at which it is proposed
to sell liquors of any kind in said town, and make such
by-laws and regulations, as they may deem necessary,
to prevent the sale of liquors in said town to slaves,
and prevent free persons from supplying slaves with
'iotxicating liquors: Provided, That no license to keep
a ta,. an or sell liquors, shall be issued by authority of Proviso.

Sec. 2. Be it further enactea, That said board of Tax on licenses

be subject to indictment or presentment, tried and disorierly
punished, in the Mason circuit court, for keeping a houses,
tippling house, or for permitting unlawful gaming in
his or her house, as if this act had not passed. And Jurisdiction o(
from and after the first day of March next, the county county courts
court of Mason shall not have power to grant license taken away.
