CHAP. DCXXXII.                        1831.
.NACT to change the constable's district in the first
battalion in the 88th regiment of Kentwky militia.
Approved, December 2, 1831.
Stc. 1. Be it emrcted by the General dssembly of the
Commonwealth of Kentucky, That the constable's dis-
trict, which is composed of the first battalion in the
eighty-eighth regiment of Kentucky militia, shall be
so changed as to include the residence of general Sam-
uel Ireland in said district.

SlEc. 1. Be it enacted by the General 4ssembly of the
Commonmealth of Kentucky, That so much of the Ctty Of Lxing-
tnineorpora-
county of Fayette as is contained within the following ted; style there-
bounds, to-wit, one mile from the court-house in every of, &c.
direction, shall be, and hereby is declared to be a City;
and the inhabitants thereof are created a body cor-
porate and politic, with perpetual succession, by the
name and style of the City of -Lexingtoni and as
such, by that name, shall be capable in law of con-
tracting and being contracted with, of suing and being
sued, pleading and being impleaded, answering and General corpo-
being answered unto, in all courts and places, and in rate powers.
all matters whatsoever; and may have and use a tor-
porate seal, and change, alter, and renew the same at
pleasure.
SEC. 2. Be it fatrther enacted, That the fiscal, pru-
dential, and muaicipal concerns, of the said City, with
the government and control thereof, shall be vested in Thegovern-

one principal officer, to be called the mayor, and one vested inamay.
