WHEREAS, Robinson Shelburn, some years ago, departed this life, intestate, leaving a widow and sev- eral children, sone of whom are yet infants; that he owned at his death a negro tuan named Joe, who is a profligate, runaway and unmanageable fellow; To remedy that inconvenience, SEc. 1. Be it enacted by the General .assembly of the Commonuealth qj Keiducky, That the widow of said Robinson Shelburn shall he, and she is hereby au- thorized to sell the said negro Joe for the best price which can be had, and lay the same out in another negro or negroes, the title to such negro or ne- groes, when purchased shall go in the same manner and subject to the same demands, and vested in the same persons, as Joe now is: Provided, that said wid- ow shall, before she -ells said Joe, give bond and good security, in the county court of Spencer coun- ty, in the penalty of one thousand dollars, for the faithful discharge of her duties as is herein pointed out. 120
