1-it'ial.  Assembly, that James F. Nail, of the county e(;, Nelson.
was, some time in the year 1817, appoirvId guz.rdiare
for John G. Yall, inthnt orphan of Joiin Nail, do'ceased,
by the cotunty court of the county of W;- hivgton, arid
that, among other property ofsaid infant, there was a
certain man slave, by the name of Sampson, who came
to the hands of said guardian; and whereas it is further
represented, that some time in the year 1822, said
slave ran away, and was gone in and about eighteen
months; that after much trouble and experice, he was
taker, at Fort Wayne, in the State of Indiana, and
brought back to Kentucky, and, owing to the general
bad character and disposition of said slave, Sampson,
the said James V. Nail, guardian as aforesaid, regard-
ing the best interest of his said ward, was advised to,
and did sell said slave:
Sec. 1. Be.it theref.re enacted by the General Assembly
lie sale of a of the Commonwealth of Kntucky, That the sale of said
.!, 'v legalized slave, Sampson, by the said James F. Nall, be, and the
same is hereby legalized and made valid, to all intents
and purposes, as it would have been, had the said NalH
possessed, sold and conveyed the said slave in his indi-
vidual right, and the said James F. Nail, guardian as
aforesaid, be, and is hereby exonerated from all res-
ponsibility in consequence of said sale: Provided, never-
theless, that he shall account to his ward, his heirs and
representatives, for the proceeds of said sa'le, with in-
Cerest thereon at the rate of six per centum per annum,
until said ward arrives at age.

BE it enacted by the General .ssembly of the Common.
