Approved, Janiary 7, 1824.
WIIEREAS, it is represented to the present Gen-
oral Assembly, that James, M'Gowau, late of the
cr.unty of Fleming did, by virtue of his last Will and Preamble.,
Testament, yest thelegal title in a 'certain portion
of his slaves in a Trustee for the use o his daugh-
ter Nancy Strode, for and during her natural life,
and at her death they are to desvend to her children,
and thtt Abrahahi M'Gowan her brother is her,
Trustee and executor of said Will, and that the do-
visees of said M'Gowan, in order to effect a ditision
of said slaves did, by virtue ofa written agreement,
request the said Abraham M'Gowan in his caliacity
as executor, to sell th said slaves, and that in said
sale lie did puichavo a negro girl named Hannah,
as Trustee for said Nancy : Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be It enacted by the General Asseinbly of
the Coimoinwealth of Kentucky,, 'Ihat the division Division tora
of said slaves shall be, and the same is hereby con- firm.ed,
irmed, hnd that the title to said negro girl Han-
nah, shall be vested in the Trustee of said Nancy
Strode, agreeably to the provisions of said Will,
and the said Trustee or his successor may permit
the said Nancy Strode to have the pesonal services
of said negro girl and that sie shall not be liable to
*he payment of the debts.

devisees of John Biarbee deceascd.

WIIEREAS, it is represented to this present
General Assembly, tlhat Phillis Barbee, 1widow of Rccital,.
John Barbee deceased, has by deed in writing,
bearing date the 14th day of December 1812, relin-
quishied all her right and title to a negro woman by
the namo of Lucy and her three children Sarah, Jr-
