See. 1. Be it enacted by tOe General .issembly of
the Comntuonweatth of Ientucky, That it shall and  Trustees-te
may be lawful for the white male inhabitants of tlhe be elected, 8
age of twenty-one years,. and tipwards, .who have ,ee.
resided within the bounds of the town for the three
months next preceding thelirst Monday in June an-
nually, to elect on- the said firsf Monday WiJune,
live persons as trustees for the town;' for the ensu-
ing year; who shall hold their office until their sue-
eessors shall be elected and organized.

ed by the president of the existing bbard of trustees
for that purpose; who shall, within ten days, ifter
the election, make a return to the clerk of the 0oard,

their next meeting, be entered on their records, and
considered as the trustees of the town for the year
ensuing.
See. 3. In case of a failure to elent, or in case o6f How vican.

ters onthe duties of his office, shall take an oath
efore a justice of the peace for the county of
Clarke, that he will, to the best of his abilities, ex-
ecute the duties of a trutee for 'the town of Win-
chcster: A certificat, of which oath shall be filed
with the clerk, and at their next meeting entered on
the records of the board.
