road, to demand or receive any toll for ariyjack,jir-
ney, or mule, that may pass through said gate:
therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly, That it
shall be lawful for the keeper of the said turnpike
gate, to demand and receive for each jack or jinney,
six cents two and an half mills, for each mule six
cents two and an half mills, that may pass through
the said gate.
This act shall commence and be in force from and
after its passage.
CHAP. CXLIX.
AN ACT
To amend the several acts oI ossemb y concern-
ing the town of Frankfort.

W       HEREAS many slaves, are, by their owners
in the country, permitted to reside in Frank- Preamble.

other slaves to steal, and mispend their time, to the
injury of their owners, and others: For remedy
