§ . .  it enac~ad by the general assembly, ThatTru(a  d,t
it shall be lawful for all free white. male inhabit- whe, a,,u by
ants, of  George-tow n,  in  the  county  of  Sco tt,  ,,h
above thc age of twenty.one years, to eect annu-
ally on the first Saturday in.the monthFebruary,
seven trustees; the first eeAion shall be conduded
by two of the justices of Scott county, to be ap.
pointed by the county. court of said couity, for
that purpose; and ten days previous notice thergpf
shall be given by tle magistrates so appointed, in
the most public places in the said town ; and the
,return of persons so eleaed shall be made to a
.,ierk to be also appointed by the said county C0prt,
pro tempore, and by. him recordedin a journal to be
provided for that purpose.  In all future eledions
the election shall be conduded by one or more of
thethen'ad'ing trustees, to be appointed for that
Purpose, and tcn clays previous notice thereof shall
bo given by the chairman of said board, in, the most
public places in said town ; and the xeturn of
persons so cleded ,hall be made to the clerk of said
board, & by him recorded in their journal. The said T- take Al
