The General Assembly of Georgia do enact, That see- s *tion 1376 of the Code of Georgia, which reads as follows: It shall be unlawful for any church, society, or other body, or any persons, to grant any license or other authority to any slave or free person of color to preach or exhort, or otherwise officiate in church mat- ters, be, and the same is hereby repealed. SEc. 11. And that the law in reference to licensing slaves and _ ,free persons of color to preach, existing before the adoption of the Code, is hereby re-enacted.* Assented to April 1Sth, I S863.
