An Act to alter and amend all Act entitled an Act to incorporate the City of Americus, and to alter and anwnd an Act to incorporate the town of Americus in the county of Sumicr, and for other purposes. 1. SECTION I. Be it enacted, That the corporate limits of the city of Americus in the county of Sumter, shall extend from the Court, Cot. House within the present comporate limits, one mite in every direc-min.ite. tion, except westward, in which direction the limits shall be as al- ready enacted, to-wit : the eastern bank of Mucalee Creek. 2. Sc. II. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the municipal government of the city of Americus shall con- sist of seven Aldermen, who are hereby constituted a body corpo- Aldermen. rate, under the name and style of the Common Council of the city corPore. of Americus ; and under such name shall have perpetual succes- rowen. sion ; shall have a common Seal, and by such name and seal plead and be impleaded in any Court of law and equity in this State. 3. SEc. 111.
