Be it enacted, ., That any free person of color,,.,y in wandering or strolling about, or leading an idle, immoral or profli. When a free person of color is convicted of the of- fence of Vagrancy, the Judge shall pass an order requiring the Shor- laro iff to advertise in some public Gazette of the State, the length ofun.titie, time for which such free person of color is to be sold, also the place and time of sale; and the rules and regulations which now govern Sheriff sales of slaves, shall also govern sales of free persons of color, except in such respects as are particularly provided for in this act; the sale shall always be for cash, and the amount of such sales, 69
