Thomasville.
14. Sec. XIV. And be it Further enacted, That each one of the
Commissioners of said town, shall have power to issue warrants for May Isis
the arrest of any person guilty of any violation of any of the crim- warraut
inal laws of this State, in said town, which warrants may be served
by the Marshal of said town, or the Sheriff, or any constable of said Alat''s
county, and shall either bind over to the Superior Court of said
county, or default of bail, to commit to jail in such manner as is
now done by Justices of the Peace.
15. Sec. XV. And be it further enacted. That from and after the
fifteenth day of January, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty- cleTa', Cost
seven, the Clerk of the City Council of Atlanta, shall receive the 1 Atlnt.
sum of thirty-one and one-fourth cents on all solvent tax fi fas issued
in pursuance of the charter and ordinances of said city, and shall
receive such compensation for all insolvent tax fi fas as the Mayor
and Council shall by ordinance ordain and establish.
16. Sec. XVI. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and Insolvent
Council of the City of Atlanta, from and after the passage of this execuou
act, shall not be liable to pay any insolyent execution except upon
such terms and regulations as they may prescribe.
17. Sec. XVII. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and
three members of Council of the city of Atlanta, sitting as a muni-
cipal court, shall have power and authority to impose a fine of not Extent of
exceeding fifty dollars, or upon imprisonment in the guard-house ofpun ishment;
said city, any offender against any of the laws and ordinances of
said city, for the space of not exceeding thirty days.
18. Sec. XVIII. And be it further enacted, That the Commis- com'srs of
sioners of the town of Cedar Town, Polk county, Georgia, shall Ceda Town,
have power to imprison any person violating the rules or by-laws of
said town, said imprisonment not to exceed ten days.
