of December, 1836, and styled an act to incorporate the town of
Brunswick, and to extend its jurisdictional limits, and for other pur-.
poses therein mentioned, to the repeal of said act of incorporation,
styled an act to repeal an act entitled an act to incorporate the town
of Brunswick, and to extend its jurisdictional limits, and for other
purposes therein mentioned, passed the 18th of December, 1847,
shall be and the same are hereby declared to be the property of the
To wbom  city of Brunswick, and shall be delivered by the person or persons
delivered I
having them in possession, to the Mayor and council of the city of
Brunswick as created by this act, for the use of said city, and if the
person or persons having said books or records in possession, shall
refuse to deliver them to the said Mayor and Council on demand he
or they shall be subject to an indictment for the offence of misde-
Refusal,  meanor before the Superior Court of Glynn county, and upon con-
viction thereof shall be fined not less than one hundred nor more
than five hundred dollars, and be confined in the jailof said county
until said records are delivered to said Mayor and council of the city
of Brunswick.
36. Sec. XXXVI. And be it further enacted, That the said May-
By-laws,  or and Council of the city of Brunswick shall have full power and
authority to pass every by-law, regulation or ordinance that may ap-
pear to them necessary and proper for the security, welfare and in-
terest of the said city, and of preserving the peace, health, morals,
order and good government of the same.
37. Sec. XXXVII. And be it further enacted, That the act here-
tofore passed, with all acts amendatory thereto, incorporating the
town of Brunswick; together with all laws and parts of laws milita-
ting against this act be and the same are hereby repealed.

APPRtOVED, March 5th., 1856.
The General Assembly of tle State of Georgia, do enact as
follows:
1. Sec. I. The present town of Greensboro' shall be and is
City of  hereby incorporated as a city, and shall be known as the cty of
