SECTIoN 5. And be it further enacted, That all laws and
parts of laws militating against this act, be and the same
are hereby repealed.

AN ACT to compensate Petit Jurors in the county of
Hancock.
SECTION 1, Bec it enacted by the Senate and House of R-.
resentatives of s/e State of Georgia in Gn eral Assembly met, and
it is hereby enacted by the authority ofthe same, That in cases of
confession ofjudgment, as wellas verdicts rendered in the Su-
perior and Inferior Courts of the county of Hancock, a jury
fee of three dollars shall be paid by the plaintifl, to be taxed
in the cost against the unsuccessful party, and such fees
shall be divided amongst the Jurors sworn and in attendance
under the direction of the Court; and in the trial of slaves
or frec persons of color in said county, a fee of six dollars
shall be paid by the Clerk of the Court to the juiy, to be in-
cluded in the costs to be taxed against the owner or guar-
dian, in case of conviction, when the punishment is not capi-
tal-all laws to the contrary notwithstanding.

AN ACT to compensate the Petit Jurors of the county of
Jasper, and to authorise the Justices of the Inferior Court
to levy an extra tax fbr that purpuse.
SEcrIoN 1. Be it enacted by the Senaff and House of Rep-
resentatives of the State of Georgia n General Assembly met,
[and it is hereby enacted by the authority ofJthe same,] That all
persons who ma; be summoned to attend the Superior and
Inferior Courts of Jasper county as Petit Jurors, and who
shall be sworn and empanneled as Jurors, shall severally
he entitled to receive the sum of one dollar each per day, for
each and every (lay the said Jurors -,hall attend as aforesaid.
SECTION 2. And be itirther enacted by the authority afore-
said, That the fee of' three dollars now allowed by law for
the trial of each and every case in said Courts, and all oth-
ero allowed by law, shall be received by the respective
Clerks as aforesaid, and at the close of said Courts t, pay
Over to each Juror his proportionable part of the money rais-
ed as aforesaid, and to give to the said Juror a certificate for
