AN ACT To incorporate the town of Knoxville in the county of Crawflor4h Ie it enacted by thr Senate and House of R1epresentatives of th' State of Georgia in General Asseimbly mtet, and it is hereby enact- ed by the authority of the saie, That from and alter the passhiu of this act, that the following persons, viz Thomas Harvey, John Vance, Frank Williamson, Jesse Stone and Martin T. Ellis, bc and they are hereby appointed commissioners of the town oI Knoxville in the county aforesaid, and they or a majority of them .shall have full power to convene at rmv time after the passage of this act and proceed to the appointment ot a clerk an1d such otlher offiecrs as they may deem necessary to carry this act into execu. tio. SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the coiminiiers 0f said town shall have power and authority to make any bye-law and regulations they may deem necessar , requiring the citizen of said town to return oil oatI to tie oilicer appointed as albre- said the amount of taxable pIoperty both real and personal, together with he amount of stock in trade by him or themi possessed i said town, and in case of refusal to cause tle tax to be assessed and collected in such manner as they may pre cribe
