SEC. 1. B E it enaled by the Senate and House of Re- presentatives of the state of Georgia, in General Assembly mct, and by the authority of the same, That all owners, managers or employers of male fIlaves, within their feveral dif- tri&s or divifions, thall, when fimmoned, deliver to the perfon fummoning him, her or them, a lift in writing of all male flaves from the age of eighteen to fifty years, figned by fich owner, manager or employer, under a pen- alty of one hundred dollars; which lift, the perfon or perfons fummoning, fhall deliver to the commiffioners or furveyors of fuch difirias or divifions, on or before the day to which they are fummoned to appear. And the faid commiffioners are empowered to fvear any owner, manager, employer or fummoner, giving, receiving o delivering fuch lift, to the truth thereof, and of fuch fer- vice having been duly made; and the perfon or perfons fummoning as aforefaid, fhall be exempt from his or their perfonal labor or attendance in fuch diftrias or divifions, for that tour of duty. Sic. 2. BA it further enacted by the authority afore- said, That in cafe any perfon or perfons appointed to fum- mons is aforefaid, fhall neglea or refufe fo to do, fuch perfon or perfons fhall feverally forfeit the fum of thirty dollars for every fuch offence. SEc. 3. AND be it further enacted, That the cut-off, in the county of M'Intofh, known by the name of the Gen- eral's cut, thall henceforth be deemed and confidered as a part of the public high-way; and that the coimmifflion- ers of faid county are hereby authorized to apportion fuch number of hands from the diftria or diflrias of faid coun-
