AN ACT lixing the pay of' minbers and oflcers of the General Assembly.
SluroN 1. Be it enanted bl t/e Senate and Manotse of' R.pre-
sentaties.of the State of Floridha in General A.asembly convened,  ,
'That ech and every member of the General Assembly of this iuniegefixod..
State shall be entitled to receive as eompensntiobfor his services,
as such menllber, eight dollars per diem for tlb time he shall be
in attendance upon the General Aisenibly, including the time
,Ionsumed in going to and returning from the same, to be estima.
led by allowing one day fbr every twenty miles of actual travel,
and also ten cents pet, mile fbr every mile of' necessary travel,
going to and returning from the General Assembly;
 Si. 2. Be itf urther enacted, That the Secrettiry of the Sell- Uompensallon
ate shall receive as compensation for his services as such, ten upIhofficersof
.dollars per day; that the Chief Clerk of the I-Iouse of Represen- sombly.
tatives shall receive tell dollars per day; thidit the Assistant Clerks
of the Senate and House of Representatives, and tle Enrolling,
Engrossing and Recording Clerks of the same, shall be nine dol-
hilts per day; and that the pay of the Door-Keepers, Sergeant-at-
Arms and Messengerm. of each House of the General Assembly
shall be eight dollars per day, respectively ; and that the Chap.
laitns,of each House shall be allowed one hundred dollars fbr their -
services during each session ; that the several officers of each
[louse of tile General Assembly be allowed .the same mileage as
the venl)ers thereof; that the serv'ant for ringing the bell be
llowed twenty dollars; and that the servant fbr making fires
and attending on the House and Senate he allowed forty dollars
for each session of the General Assembly.

tives January 0, 1800. Vetoed by the Governor January 15, 1800. Re-

Secretary of State.
