from  Militia duty, except the following: 1st, Every person      .1864.
who is or may become physically unable to perform Militia
duty, to be ascertained in such manner as the Governor slall
prdscribe; 2d, ministers of religion who now are in the reg-
ular discharge of their ministerial duties; 3d, Judges of the
Supreme and Circuit Courts ; 4th, millers, not exceeding one
for each mill; 5th, ferrymen on post routes ; 0th, physicians
of 40 years of' age; 'tl, members and officers of the ,egisla-
ture when in actual session : 'Provided, That nothing hierein
shiall be 9o construed as to deprive the members and officers
of the Legislature fron attending any regular or extra ses-
sion of the Legislature without delay, let or hindrance.
Sic. 11. Be it furth er enacted, 'That this State is hereby
divided into three Militia districts. The first district shall Mlitiadistrict.
comprise all that part of the State that lies east of' the Su-
wannee river ; the second district all that part lying be-
tween thie Suwannec and Apalachicola river, and the. third
district all that part lying west of the Apalachicola river.

laws inconsistent with this act be and they are hereby re-
pealed.

AN ACT to amend the laws relating to Slaves.
SECTION 1. .Be it enactedI by the Senate anl House q f 7e)-

Sire. 2. We it further enacted, That if any Sheriff shall
wilfuilly refuse or fail to discharge the duties as iinposed by Sheriff neL-
