Res olutiong.  Be It therefore Resolved by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the Territory of Florida, That our Delegate in
Congress be, and he is hereby requested, to procure for the in-
habitants of said township, the privilege of locating elsewhere
of a section, in place of the sixteenth section granted by the
Government to the late Gen. La Fayette, to be for the benefit
of the inhabitants of said township.

NO. XLII.
Preinblc and Resolution.
WiriatFAS, it isdesirable to aflbrd mail facilities to a large
portion of Walter county , which is now cut off irom such fa-.
cilities. Therefore,
Be it Resolved by the Governor ahd Legislative C ouncil of
the Torriwory of Florida, That our Delegate in Congresb be re-
quested to endeavor to procure the extension of the mail route
now existing between Marianna and Euchecana, as far as the
town of Geneva, in the State of Alabama.
Approved March 7th, 1845.
NO. XLIII,
llewulution.
Be it resolved by the Governor and Legislative Council of
the Territory of Florida, That the Commissioner of the city of
Tallahassee proceed forthwith to dispose of the lands and lots
belonging tothe Territory, and which wore granted for the
erection oftho Capitol, so as to clear up and settle the affairs of
said office as early as practicable.
Approved February 17th, 1845.

WHEREAs, the admission of the Territory of Iowa as a sove-
reign State of the Union, would, in our opinion, if Florida is not
at the sailme time admitted, give an undue preponderance in the
National Councils to the northern and non.slaveholding States,
and tend to destroy that balance of power, which ever ought to
prevail between the conflicting and sectional interests of the
Republic: And whereas, we are warned by facts and circum.
