See' 1. Be r. enacted by the Governor and Legislative Coun-
cil of the Territo.y of 1lorida, That all free while inbabitants,
in that part of Eslambia county, comprehended withn the fol-
lowing boundhries, th'at is to say, bounded on the *south and
eas', by the harbour V Pensacola, on tle west by bayou Chico,
on the north by a line,lrawn nortlh east from Galves' spring to Lih~tof o~r1o
where said line will inteisect tile bayou Texar, thence with the
said bayou to Pensacola '4ay, shall be, and are hereby consti-
tuted a body politic and colporate, by tile name and style of'the
city of Pensacola ; and by gieir corporate name may sue, and
be sued, implead, and be imp'saded, grant, receive, and do1 all
other acts as natural persons, anad may purchase and hold real,
personal, and mixed property, or dispose of the same for the
benefit of the said city ; and may have and use a city seq1, which
may be altered or broken at pleasure.,
See. 2. Be it further euactedi That the government of %lie
said city shall be vested in a person to be called the Mayor, anIt) Oflkcr,.
in a board of Aldermen, to be elected in the manner, by the
persons, and at the time hereinafter directed.
Sec. 3. Be it tirther enacted, That all free white male in-
habitants who are citizens of the United States, and of the age
of twenty-one years and upwards, and who hdive resided twelve (linIficatio of
months in the city, next preceding the day of election, shall be
qualified to vote at the election of Mayor and Aldermen ; and
the election shall be held on the first -Monday of April inevery
year, by, three commissioners, to be appointed by the board of
Aldermen, at least ten days before the day of election.
Sec. 4. Be it further enacted, That al free white .male chi-
