Szo. 14. lieit further enacted, That if-any person
shall within this territory, make or hold out any false
lights, or make any device, or do any other act or thing
with intent to mislead, bewiilder or decoy the mariners
of any vessel on the high seas, whereby b.uch vessel may
be cast ashore, or get aground, such person or persons
so offending, and every accessory thereto, shall on con.
viction thereof be deemed guilty of Felony, and shall
suffer death.
S.o. 15. Bc it .further enacted, That nothing in this
act contained shall be construed to affect the revenue
of the United States, but it shudl be the duty of all per-
sons having charge of wrecked property, to report the
same to the officer of the United States duly authorised
and residing next adjacent to the place of arrival, in
conformity to the revenue laws of the United States in
such case made and provided,

AN ACT

To establish the fees of certalin oflicersand for other purposes.
IBe it enacted by the Governor and Legislative Coun-
cil of the Territory of Florida, That it shall and may
he lawful for the several officers hereinafter mentioned
to demand and receive for their services the respective
'fees hereinafter mentioned, (that is to say,)
The surveyor of each county shall receive such fees
Surveyor      atid compensation, as Shall 'be fixed by the county
courts oftheir respective counties.
The clerks of the Superior and County Courts shall
receive the following fees:
For entering the appearance of the defendant in per.
son or by attorn~y, twelve and a hall cents,
For docketing any cause noticed for trial, twelve and
Clerks fees   a half cents.
For every original W1rit, capias or subpcna in chan-
cery or other legal proceedings under the seMl of the
court, fifty cents.
