AN ACT,
'o lcalize certain conveyances or property in the Tcrritor of
Florida,.
Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative Coun.:
eil of the Territory'of Florida, That all deeds of con-
veyance, bills of sale, mortgages, or other transfers of
property, either real or personal, within the limits of
this territory, made and received bona fide, and upon
good consideration, at any time between the first day
of January 1817 and tht- first day ofOctoher 1822, shall
be as good and efficient in law and equity, as if the same
had been made and executed ac Lording to the formuli-
ties of' the Spanish law, as against the maker or makers
thereof, and every person or persons claitning, by,
through, or under him, her or them, Provided, That
nothing !it this act contained shall be so construed as
to effect the interest o' persons not particks to any ofthe
contracts aroresaid. And Provided alao, That the
said deeds of con veyance, bills of sale, murtgiges, and
other transfers, shall he recorded agieeably to tie laws
of this 'erritory, within six months from the passage
of this act.

lie it enacted Iby the Governor and Legislative
Council of tMe Territory of Florida, That there shall be
a competent number ojustices of the peace, appointed
in the several counties ol this Territory.

appointed, before he enters on the duties of his office,
shall take an oath or affirmation to support the consti-
