Be it enacted by the Senate and H11ouse of Represen. tatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly giet, That any free negro or mulatto residing or being in this State, wh6 ^,'nj shall be imprisoned for any debt or obligation created or entered nmrisonem iito within said State, after the first day of July next, shall be ,opetora allowed ten days from the date of such imprisonment, within.0 ;tCr which to arrange with his or her creditor or creditors, for the tt ty or liquidation and payment of his or her indebtedness for which he IiIVe or she has been so imprisoned, together with such other debts 2 io created since the said first day of ly as shall be duly authenti-e ortho cleaku (la euty snai ye tujy ntue tiiot, or cated on oath or affirmation before some Justice of the Peace of theanouud the county where such debtor shall be imprisoned, and iled with all costs, the Sheriff of such county, before any disposition shall have been made of the party so imprisoned, whereby lie or she shall have been released from imprisonment, and also all costs and prison charges connected with such imprisonment.
