AN ACT 1l oph-olviatel the monies in the treasutry ofthis Stt.
SECTION 1. Be it enucted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SEcioN 1. He it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen-
tatirts of' the State of De/amuare in General Asseibly met, That it
any person or persons shall, knowingly cutice, persuade, encourage.
aid or abet any n1e!gro o' iuflatto slave or indented servant, to leave
the service of' his or her muster or mistress, or shall, knowingly.
aid or assist any neTro or mulatto slaves or indented servants, in
escaping fromn the service of' his or her said master or mistress.
every person so offendiig, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and UPoN convition th1er'eof shall iorfeit and pay to the State, a
line of not less than one hundre(d dollars, nor more than five hun-
dred dollars, and shall be imprisoned for a tern of not less that
three months, nor more than six mtonths, and at the expiration of
stid imprisonnlenl shall he disposed of, if a negro or mulatto, as a
servant to the  miihest and best bidder, for the period of seveo
