ceive the sum of four dollars per day; and for the chaplain of
the House of Representatives the sum of four dollars per day.
SEc. 3. That the Secretary of the Senate, and the clerk of the
House of Representatives shall be paid fifteen cents for each one
hundred words for copying the journals of the Senate and House
of Representatives and furnishing the same to the public printer.
And all such accounts shall be paid upon the certificate of the
public printer.
SEc. 4. To pay the rent of the executive mansion, such amount
not exceeding one thousand dollars per annum, as may be nec-
essary to procure a suitable building: Provided, That none of
the appropriations made by this act shall be payable in specie.

AN ACT supplementary to an act entitled .An act atdhorizing the
issue of treasury warrants of various denominations, passed at the
present session of the General Assembly.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ar-
kansas, That payment under an act for the relief of indigent fami-
lies, shall not be delayed because the hills of denominations less
than one dollar are not prepared, but the payments may be made
in bills of one dollar and upwards, until bills of a less size can be
prepared.
Src. 2. Be it further enacted, That this act take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.

AN AC.T to extend the powers of judges of probate in certain cases.
SuEMo 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ar-
kansas, 'That whenever it shall be made appear to the satisfac-
tion of any judge of probate that it will promote the interest of
an estate to hire out at private hire a part or all of the slaves be-
longing to any estate, the court in the exercise of a sound discre-
tion may order the same to be done.
Sicc. 2. He it further enacted, That if from any cause an execu-
tor or administrator shall fail to sell any lands and tenements
ordered to be sold by the court of probate at the time snecified in
said order he shall report the facts to the court accompanied by
his affidavit of the truth thereof; and it shall then be the duty
of said court to make an order directing the executor or admin-
istrator to re-advertise said lands according to law, and sell the
same at such time and upon such terms as in the judgment of the
