Resolution by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas. (No date of approval given). 1862 85 (1862.11)

the keeper of the penitentiary of Arkansas should not receive
into or keep in said institution any persons except such as are
duly convicted of crimes, and sentenced to imprisonment as pun-
ishment for such by the judicial tribunals of this State, or of the
Confederate States, except slaves; and it is hereby made his duty
to require the production of a duly certified copy of a judgment
of a court in which the conviction was had before receiving the
convict.
(This act was not returned within three days after it was deliv-
ered to the Governor for his approval, whereby it becomes a law.)
Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, That
the Secretary of State furnish each member of this assembly with
one bound copy of the second geological report of Dr. Owen, and
that he distri buto the remaining volumes (except fifty for the use
of the State) to the several counties in this State in proportion to
their representation.
ArruovD, November 29th, 1862.
Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, That
the first duty of the commissioner of inquiry created by act of
this General Assembly shall be to examine the Auditor's and
Treasurer's books, and report the result of their examination to
the Governor, which report shatll be laid before the General
Assembly at its next session.

Resolved by the General .nnerbly of the State of Arkanuas, That
William It. 11iller, Auditor of Public Accounts of Arkansas, he
and he is hereby requireid to turn over to V. 1). J acoway, all the
pa:pers of his late father, lenjamin I. Jacoway, filed in his office as
marshal of the western district of Arkansas, under the Govern-
ment of the United States.
