The county of Pike shall elect one Representative.
The county of Poinsett shall elect one Representative.
The county of Polk shall elect one Representative.
The county of Pope shall elect two Representatives.

The county of Saline shall elect two Representatives.
The county of Scott shall elect one Representative.
The county of Searcy shall elect one Representative.
The county of Sevier shall elect one Representative.

The county of Union shall elect three Representatives.
The county of Van Buren shall elect one Representative.
The county of Washington shall elect five Representatives.

An act concerning slaves.

SECTION                              I S
1. Bills of sale of slaves allowed to be
recorded, and received as evidence
in courts, in the same manner as
conveyances of real estate.
2. Those heretofore acknowledged and
recorded, may also be used as evi-
dence.
3. Five years' peaceable possession of a
slave, to confer title against the
world.
4. With regard to slaves heretofore ac-

quired, the 5 years' possession is
to date from the passage of this act,
to quiet the ttle.
5. The two preceding sections not to
apply to the possession of slaves
under and by virtue of any instru.
ment of writing duly acknowledged
and recorded.
6. Conflicting laws repealed, and this
act to be in force from its passage.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of
Arkansas, That deeds and instruments of writing for the sale of
slaves, or concerning any interest in slaves, may be acknowleged
and recorded in the same manner as conveyances of real estate,
