1837.      SEc. 20. This act shall take effect, and be in force, from
and after its passage.
Approved: March 5th, 1838.
An Act authorizing the guardian of Elizabeth and Peter Myers
to sell lands.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ar-
Guardian may kansas, That George Richards, of Loudon county, in the state
sell land at pri. of Virginia, guardian of Elizabeth Myers and Peter Myers,
heirs at law of James M. Carter, dece ased, be, and he is
hereby, authorized and empowered to sell, at private sale, any
and every tract or parcel of land, situate and being in this
state, belonging to the estate of the said James M. Carter,
to which the said Elizabeth and Peter Myers may be enti-
tIed as heirs at law to the said Carter.
Sc. 2. Be it further enacted, That said guardian shall
Tomake deed. make, execute, acknowledge, and deliver, to the purchaser,
a deed or deeds for the land, or tracts and parcels of land, by
him so sold, and conveying all the right, title, interest, and
claim, which the said Carter had in and to such land or lands
at the time of his death.

slaves.    the said deceased died possessed, and their increase; and to
execute. deliver, and acknowledge, a deed or deeds, to the
purchaser or purchasers, conveying to each purchaser or pur-
chasers, their heirs and assigns for ever, all of the right, tit!e,
interest, and estate, of the said minor in and to such land and
slaves.
