To authorise the enrollent of the Creoles of Mobile.
Si:c. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre.

con1C1ened, That certaini persons of mixed blood, residing
I the city a  ld colIty of *lobile, commonly known as
Creoles, he and the same ore hereby authorised to be
en rolledl as militia for the lefense of the city and county
of Mobile, it' in the opinion of the mayor of the city it
is expedient.
SI~c. 2. Be it farther enacted, That the enrollment
antihorised by the first section of this act shall be miiade
1, fie .o as fol lows, to-wit: the mayor shallenroll each male
Creole between the ages of eighteen years and fifty
yeurs, w'ho wishes to be enrolled ; he shall then divide
them ilnto suitable companis, and appoint some dfis-
erect whito men as commissioned officers to command
said compaiiies. Said companijes shall be contined ex-
elusively to the defense of the city ad county of Mo-
bile, awl shall he unler thbe commald of the military
authorities in tile city of' Mobile.
