their stock subscribed and not paid in, and wlhen the assets
ihal stock aforesaid shall have been first exhausted, the
sttckholders Ohall be Iable to the creditors of the corpora-
tion, joinily and severally to the full extent of their indi-
vidual private property; Proviled, said stockholders shall
be entitled to all the rights and remedies as between them-
selves, which are now provided by law for co-sureties.
Sriu. 9. Be it further enacted, That this charter and allin forcl
the powers and privileges herein contained and granted,
shall reaiin in full foreo and eifect for the term of lifteen
years fiom the date of its approval.
Sm. 10. le it farther enacted, That all bills, bonds, notes, ibonds, &o.
or other securities made payable in or at the office of saidI
'corporation, shall be subject to the same rules of law and
to tio samc legal reiedies, as if payable in or at one of the
chartered banks of this State,

G. Dunklin, S. J. Bolling, J. M. Parmer and J. C. Caldwell,
aid such others as may hercaller becomie associated with
them for that purpose, and their successors, are hereby noy corporate.
declared and created a body politie aid corporate, by the
name of the Greenville Insurance Company, and by that
iune. shall be capable in law of suing and being sued in
any of the courts of law and equity in this State asa natural
person; they shall have.power to purchase, hold and enjoy
real and personal estate of aiiy description whatever, and
nmiy dispose of the same at pleasure, and shall have pow%'er
genlerally, to (10 and performn any and evi's' act necessary
to be dnie, to carry into alect the objects f this charter,
not inconsisterit with the Constitution and laws of this State,
and of the United States ; they may have and use a common
seil. and may alter the same.
