exchange, promissory notes or other evidences of
debt made payable at the said offices of said corpo-
ration shall be subject to the law merchant as
though the same was made payable at. v bank or
banking house in this State.

HuixTioN 1. Be it enacted by the enate and louse
of Representatives </ the State of Alabama in Gene-
ral Asscvibly convened, That John C. Whitsett,
Carporators. William  Al. Lewis, Turner  0RaviiH, Jonathan
Bliss, Arnold Jolly, William Morrison, and Wil-
liam W. Winston, and their associates be, and they
are hereby constituted it body corporate, under the
Faemeasayle name and style of the (Uaincsvillo Insurance Com-
pany, the aIount of the capital stock thereof to
be not less than fifty, nor more than two hundred
thousand dollars, and to be divided into shares of
one hundred dollars eac h.
Note to L.  Sm. 2. Be it further enacted, That notice shall
&ea.     be given for two wucessive weeks by advertisement
published in two of the iewspaplers of Sunter
County of the tie and llace, when and where
subscriptions will lie received for stock in said corn-
pany ; said subscriptions shall lie opened under the
inspection and control of 'Turner Iteavis, Jonathan
Bliss and William  Morrison, and the sum  of tenl
dollars utoin eauch share shall lie paid in at the time
of subscription, and the remainder be secured to
be paid, and be paid at such time and in such man-
ner as the board of directors, after their election,
shall determine  t he books to remain open for sub-
