SECTION 1. 11 it eildt'd by 1h A ate and house of Rep- resentatives of the State of Aklbrnt i General Assenbly con- vened, That trustees, constables and the sheriff in the county of Marengo may sell as now provided for by law all the real estate and negroes, (and as to the sheriff) all personal property they may respectively levy on in the dis- charge of the duties of their office, or otherwise have occasion to sell from that part of the county lying north of the Chickasabogue creek, at the town of Demopolis, on the third Monday in each month, any law now to the con- trary notwithstanding: Proi-ded, that the law now in force shall remain unaltered as to all that part of the county ly- ing north and cast of the Chickasahogue creek.
