by vessels into the Bay of Mobile.

sentatives of the State of Alabana, in  neral Adsembdi; ron rend,'
Muster or consi;- That it sh1all be lawful for the'niaste or dlonsignOe of any
niigie i tree vessel coming into the Bay of Mob, frorn any other State
posuies of' col .

Mbilefrunohlier of color, employed on board of such vesial as cook, stlw-
',nd     ard, mariner, or in any other employment, to file with the
Mayor o 'the City of Mlobile a bond. with stilicient sn re.
ties, resident in the county of Mobile, in the penil sutm of
not lcss than two thousand dollars nor muore tihan five thou-
sand, as tie Mayor mnay prescribe. (with reference to ii
itinher of colored persons on board) payLlblc to the Go-
vernor of the State of Alabana and his snecessors inl of-
fice, the condition of which bond shall be, thiat such negrou:s
'ii tieiw'Oeees or persons otcolor, anid each and every of thonu, shall not
'tui wll to  be permitted to leave 'such vessel, for anm purpose what-
I'ive vl    soever, during the stay thereof withini tih' waters of this
State, and that such vessel shall, on its departure, carry
away, or eause to be carried away, out at this State. all
such lree ne':ro's, or free perzous of' eolor. and every one
ot thn so brouglht in such vessel: And, furitther, that sl('IL
t'essel shou not cUm)e with said persons within three milve
of the Cit. of \oAlabi. nor within one milt of the shore
(exc'p i  p si g out of' the Bay.) and that during the

and p-r!-on o1 color of this State. And the Mayor of said
vity shat! receive such hind, file it in his oflice, to be pre-
served iln wanted for suit, and if forfeited, tie same shall
t'o handed over to the proper Solicitor for situ. And all
1u11s uin ide r thi s seation shall be by motion 6f the Solicitor of
Cth. Circuit, be'forno the Cirtmtit Court, after three days no-
tice t; the printipal or any of the sureties otn said bond.
And the :;iid Mayor shall be entitled to receive, for taking
WI iodthe  sum  of fifty cents, to be paid hy the obligor.
Stc. 2. .nd bi? it furthei enacted, by the athorit.y
Kin   ..,. Lr-,Iid, 'lhat in all cases where stich bond shall be given,
a the pirovisions of the laws of this State, authorizing the
Arrest and iairisonien t of such free negroes and persons
or color, on warrant of the Mtyor, or by the Sheriff or
city Marshal, by reason of their coning into this State in
.nc:i vessels, shall be suspended and inoperative: Provided,
tac ito birich of the condition of said bond shall have
tetn commited.
