[No. 257.]            AN   ACT
To regulate the resideoce of the Judge of the County Court
of Washington County,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and Iouse qf Rep-
resentatives qf the State of diabama in General diesembly
convened, That from and after the passage of this law, it shall
be the duty of the Judge of the County Court of Washing.

To compensate Logan D. Brandon, for certain services3 therein
named.         I
Section 1. lie it enacted by the Senate and House qf Re.
presentatives of the Slate of Alabama, in General .qssem-
bly convened, That the sun of one hundred dnllars, be, and
the same is hereby appropriated to Logan D. l3randon, for L.D Brandon
moneys expended and services rendered, in pursuing and ap-
prehending, and prosecuting to conviction, David Clarke,
charged with negro stealing, to be paid out any neney in the
Treasury not otherwise appropriated.

To vest in Ruthey S. Brown, wifo of David Brown, of Tusca-
loosa County, certain rights and privileges therein named,
and for other purposes.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Rep-
rescntatives of the Stale qf Alabama in General Assembly
convened, That from and after the passage of this act, it shall
be lawful for Ruthey S. Brown, of the County of Tuscaloosa,
to take, receive and hold, by purchase, gift, or icheritance, any
property, either real or personal, free from thehinderance, Pa  MR.  U
lestation or authority of her husband, David Brown, and the de.er.
same to dispose of bywill, gift, or sale; and that all property
acquired by her from and after the passage of this act, shall in
no wise he subject to the debts of her husband, and that the
said Ruthey S. Brown shall possess all the rights and privi-
leges, and be subject to all the liabilities of afeme sole.
