To extend the time for the removal of certain Slaves, emapcipated by a decree of
the County Court of Clarke County.
Section 1. Be it enacled by lte Senate and House of Representa-
tines of the State of Alabama, in General Assembly convened, That
Cicily, Mary, Squire, Pino and Drviq, emancipated by a decree
aI 4ncipation of the County Court of Clarke county, at a term of said CoUrt,
iufirmhed. leld on the twentieth day of April, A. D. one thousand eight
hundred and forty-two, ou the application of Thomas Riley, of
said county, be, and they are hereby permitted to remain, for
the term of one year from the passage of this act, before re-
moval from the State, as now required.by law: Provided,
however, that if said persons rem in beyond the said term,
they shall be subject to all the pains and penalties to which
emnancipated slaves are subjected by an act entitled an act to
authorize the Judges 'of the County Courts to emancipate
slaves, approved January seventeenth, one thousand eight hun-
dred and thirty-four, fora return to this State, after their eman-
cipation and removal: Provided, that the provisions of this act
slhall not expire until the first day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and forty-five,

To legcilize the acts of Thomas M. King, Noel B. Warren, and James P. Poston,
Commissioners of the Sixteenth 9ection of Township four, and Range five, in
the County of Jackson.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of the State of .labama, in General assembly
convened, That the acts of Thornas M. King, Noel B. Warren,
and James P. Poston, commissioners of the sixteenth section
of township four, and range five, in Jackson county, for the
year A. D., one thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven, be
and the same is hereby legalized, and made valid in all re-
spects, any law or usage to the contrary notwithstanding.

To repenl, in part, an Act for the relief of William Jones, of Walker County, and
the descendants of Joseph Elliott, of Jackson County, passed January 7th, 1828.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Rep-
resentatives of the State of Alabama in General assembly
convened, That tle third section of an act entitled an act for
the relief of William Jones, of Walker county, and the
descendants of Joseph Elliott, of Jackson county, approved
seventh January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight,
be, and the same is hereby repealed.
