JOINT RESOLUTIONS
Of the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Alabama, in General Assembly con-
vened.
Ile it Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
*S/le of .21abama in General Assembly convened, That the Cashier of
the Bank of the State of Alabama, be authorized to invest the sum of one
hundred and nineteen thousand two luendred and seven, sixty one hun-
dredths dollars, the first instalment of the two per centfund, already receiv-
ed, in the Treasury notes, isued from the Treasury of the United States,
bearing interest nt the rate of six per cent. per annum, and shall hold the
imne, and the interest aceruing theren, subject to the provisions of the
law heretofore made.
2 d. Be it further Resolved, That the Cashier aforesaid, shall receive
and re-in vest the interest t hat may arise on such notes.

Requiring the Secretary of State to furibl stationery for the Supreme Court Judges.
Resolved, by /be Senate and House of Representatives of the State of
4/lbnama, in (2'eneral .1.senb/z; conv ened, That the Secetary of State,
be reqrired to furnish such siationerY tor the use of the Supreme Court, as
ma~v be direeled by the Judges Itheretf for their use alune.

JOINT RESOLUTIONS
In relation to a controversy between the States of New York and Virginia.
The Committee on Federal telitions, to which was referred the Re-
port and Resolutions of South Carolina, adopted at its recent session in re-
lation to the controversy between New York and Virginia, together with a
copy of the act of the General As enhly of South Cirolina, 6 to prevent the
citizens of New York, from carrying slaves out of said State, and to prevent
the escape of persons charged wilb the commission of any crime, have
hid the Pubject uinder consideration, and have instructed me to report, the
following resolutions, and ask their unanimous adoption.
Resolved, by the Senate and House ef /i'Jepresentwiives qf the S/ate of
A1labaia in General./Jssemly convened, That the State of Alabama vill
stiitain the State of Virginia in ar needfull and proper measures to redress
fhe wrongs complained of, and to prevent their reeurrence.
Resolved further, That the Governor send copies of this Report and
Resolve, to the Governors of the several States, and our Senators and Re-
presentatives in Congress.           Approved, 14th February, 1843.
