Srv. 2. And be it further enacted, That irasmuch as said allowance
has not been paid outof the State treasury, the Comptroller ofpublic ne-

tle sum of seventy-five dollars he and the same is hereby appropriated Capitol.

Six- 1. L1e it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
ofthe State of Alabama in  General .dssemblyll convened, That the
sum of live th'usand dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated and
set apart out of any money in tle treasury not otherwise appropriated, for
a contingent fund, and the Comptroller of public accounts, is hereby au. Contingent
thorised and required to draw his warrants on the Treasurer for any and fund.

Src. 1. Be it enacted V the Senale and Hlouse of IRepresentatives
(Pf the State of .dtelbamai in General .!Assembly convened, That the
sum of three hundred and twelve dollars and fifty cents, he, and the same Recovery
is hereby appropriated to the heirs of Alexander Bright, deceased, in
compensation for a certain negro man slave, named Jerry, tWe property
of* the estate, which slave was executed by the sheriff of Montgomery
county, in obedience to the sentence of the law, in November, 1834.
Sic. 2. And be it further enacted, That the sum aforesaid be paid
to Franklin Armstrong, the legal executor of* the estate of said deceased,
out of any money in the Treasury, set apart for that ptirpose, not other-
wise appropriated.                      Approved, Jan. 9, 1836.

To provide for certatu expeuses therein mentioned.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the Stale of ./ltabama in General Assenbly convened, That the
several witnesses who were summoned to attend the investigation of the
contested election of William B. Trotter, of Washington county, at the Compensation
present session of the General Assembly, slu'1l be authoriscd and entitled
to receive mileage at the rate of eight cents per mile, for each and every
mile he or they may have travelled in going to Tuscaloosa, pursuant to the
summons served on him or them, and for returning home, together with
a per diem allowance of three dollars, to be computed from the time at
which he or they may have arrived at the seat of government, to the time
at which they were discharged by the Committee of this House: and
that the messenger employed by, the committee to summon witnesses and
