And be it jarther ernircd, That the boundaries of r'ran sind town, as incorporated by the first section of this act, shall be as follows, to wit: beginning at the junction of the first branch, above Johint lenry's dwelling house, with the river Calhawba, thence ip said branch to the bouni dary line of the tract of' land on which the seat of justice is located, thence with the boundary of' said tract ofland running north, and continuing round said tract of lanud, to the place where the road leading friom the coun- ty ferry on Cahawba river to the court house, intersects said boundary line, thence with saidroad to the river Cahawba, thence up said river to the beginning. Trustr, to im Sec. 3. And be it fjr/her enacid, That all free white male lu persons ofsaid town, living and residitug within said incorpora- tion, above the age of twenty-one years, are lereby authorized Powers to vote for five persons residing it the to%% in linits, as trusteel of the corporation, who are empowered to superintend the po- lice of said town, by passing such by-laws not contrary to the lawsofthe United States or ofthis State, as they may think pro- per, for the government of said town, and for the suppression and removal of nuisances, laying off and repairing the streets and ways as may be within the abovementioned houlnduries. May lay a tax Sec. 4. And be it fur/t/ir enacted, That the said trustees, or a majority of them, are hereby authorized to assess such taxes on all property lying within the limits of said incorporation, as they may think proper, for all the purposes of a proper police. Consinhic to ba Sec. 5. And be it furhcr cnalied, Trhat there shall be a con- rppoiital stable appointed within the limit nfsaid incorporation, whose dIu- ty it shall be to collect the aforesaid taxes, and to whoim the taxes aforesaid siall be given in upon oath ; and the said constable shall receive such per centum as is received by tax collectors in similar cases. Aud beit furither enacted, That the election for trus- tee tees shall be held ont the third llonday it February next, and for- ever thereafter, on the satne day in each succeeding year, firoi twelve o'clock A. M. until four o'clock P. M. under the diree- tion (fa justice ofthe peace of said county and two householders or ireliolders, in such place in said town as said justice of the peace may direct.
