1'o repeal in part, and amend an act entitled, An act to raise a Reven.
tie for the sipport of Glovernmcnt, until otherwise provided by law,
passed December 7, 1822.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and itse of Represen-
tatives of the state qf Alaboma in ieurral Assembl convened,
That so much of the above recited act, as requires the comp.
troller'of public accounts to give notice to the defaulting
bank or binks, through the medium of the Cahawba Press,
be, and. the same is hereby repealed, and that it shall here-
after bethe duty of the comptroller, to publish the notice
rcequired by the act'to which this is an amendment, in sonme
newspaper published at the seat of government.

AN ACT
For the-relief of John J.,l1Brton, and Stcphen Holt.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen-
lotives of the state of Alabanain General Assembly convened,
Thatthesumof one hundred andthirty-one dollars and twen-
ty cents, be, and the same is hereby allowed to John J.
Burton, for services rendered by him to this state, in re-
moving Th.pmas Neely from a jail in the state of Mississip-
pi to Marengo county in this state, under a charge of negro
stealing; and thgt the sum of sixty dollars be allowed to
Stephen Holt, for apprehending and assisting;to bring the
said Ncely to the jail aforesaid, for the crime aforesaid,
and that the comptroller draw his warrant on the treasurer
For the above amounts in favor of each of them respectively.

AN ACT
To authorise the Comptroller to itsue his warrant on the State Treasurer
in faor of Narlborne E. Chandler, for r, certain sun therein named. *
Section 1. Re it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre8en-
tatives of the state of Aliabania in General Assembily convened,
That the comptroller is hereby authotised and directed to
issue his warrant in friver of Norborne E. Chandler, (or the
suni of one hundred and thirty-six dollars, it being the
amount of bailiff tickets received by the said chandler, in
the year 1823, as tax collector of Monroe county.

To extend the time of payment of part of 'the publia'RevnU<of Wash.
ington county.
Section 1. Re it enacted by the Senate an(l House of Represen-
tatives of the state of Alabanta in General Aasembdy convenpd,
That the collector of the public revenue of Washington
county be allowed until the first day-of March next to make
his return, and make a full settlement with the treasurer of
this state, for the present year: Provided, The said collec-
tor pay into the treasury all the money he has collected, or
may collect, before the first day of January next.
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That the provisions of the
first section of this act shall not extend to , the col-
