My dear Sirs
In response to your request to be ad-
vised as to whether or not State warrants may be
aopted as security for the deposit of the depart-
mnt Imprest fund, I advise you as follows:
Section 2854, Revised Code of 1928,
provides that registered State warrants may be ac-
cepted by the State TreAsurer as security for the
deposit of State moneys. It -i my opinion that
such warrants may also be accepted by the Highway
Department from any bank as security for the depo-
sit of its Imprest fund.
I respetfully call your attention to
the fact that such warrants must be registered,
however.
