This is in response to your
following questions:

SUPREME COURT LIBRARY

request for an opinion on the

1.   What   is  the  deadline   for  new
political parties to qualify for the
November    1990   and    1992   General
Elections?
2. What processes are available for new
political   parties   specifically,   to
nominate candidates?
3. Can third (or new) political parties
nominate candidates by convention [See
Ark. Statutes Annotated 6 7-7-401(d)]?
If so, what is the legal procedure to do
so?
In response to your first question, the deadline for 1990
was 12:00 noon on January 2, 1990, in accordance with A.C.A.
S 7-7-203(g) (Supp. 1989), which states in pertinent part:
