handle is hein.nocall/nocalla0007 and id is 1 raw text is: Hi Marlowe,
I'm finally forwarding the Nocall Audit & Budget files from 1998-1999,
which we were unable to completely reconcile (see item #4 in the list
below for the summary of that attempt).
Please see the report to the board immediately under this note for
more detail.... We finished the check book for 1998-1999 with no
problems, but had no luck with the Audit. (An aside, should we
continue with some sort of electronic ledger, the procedures manual
needs to be revised to describe the new format of the ledger.)
There are four groups of materials in this folder:
1. Our final report, Sarah Montes' recommendation of possible
software programs and the committee's responsibilities as outlined
in the procedures manual (with language that needs updating
underlined).
2. The 2000-2001 budget and some background on how we arrived
at those figures.
3. A pile of papers which document the contortions we went through
in our unsuccessful attempts to do the audit.... Probably totally
useless, but I'm sending them along anyway.
4. The 1997-1998 report and some of our paperwork from the audit.
For whatever reason, we were able to complete the audit
(although with difficulty) that year, but even with the excel file, the
check book and receipts we couldn't this past year.
Call me with questions and I'll consult with Marilyn Dreyer to see if we
can recollect what we did, and what caused this failure to perform the
audit. I just spoke with Marilyn and she agrees that the problem
seems to be that the excel file did not break down the
expenses/income per committee in detail as the manual ledger did.
