               Journal of Child Custody

     ABSTRACT. This article   introduces the initial issue of the newJournal
     of Child Custody and lays the framework for an emerging field. To date
     there is no peer-reviewed journal dedicated specifically and only to is-
     sues related to child custody. Something has been missing in the field of
     child custody. The Journal ofChild Custody provides the missing piece in

   TheJournal ofChild Custody (JCC) is the missing piece in the field of child
custody; indeed, this new journal fills a professional void. For years now,


   Leslie Drozd, PhD, is a clinical and forensic psychologist who has worked in New-
port Beach, California for over 20 years, and is the editor of the Journal of Child Cus-
tody. She is a nationally known speaker on topics related to substance abuse, family
violence, custody, divorce, and families. Dr. Drozd does custody evaluations and ex-
pert witness testimony in cases involving families, especially those where there have
been allegations of family violence and/or substance abuse.
