THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
ON THE FORMATION AND THE DEVELOPMENT
OF THE LAW

Abstract
This paper explores various impacts of artificial intelligence (Al) on the law, and
the practice of law more specifically, for example the use of predictive tools. The author
also examines some of the innovations but also limits of Al in the context of the legal
profession as well as some ethical and legal issues raised by the use and evolution of
Al in the legal area.

B y 2016, Vietnam had an overall gross domestic product (GDP)
growth of 6.2 percent.1 That growth goes hand in hand with
the implementation of technological means in the market place, which
is not expected to stop, slow down or move backwards at any moment.
Various concerns about the impact of technology in Vietnam cannot
simply be discarded or ignored: Vietnam is expected to be hit hardest by
technological substitution.2 However, [t]he law - and other regulations
