(These minutes have not yet been approved by the Council). Perusal of the results of this Council meeting amply dem- ! onstrates the scope of the matters under consideration by the Coun- cil, which in turn is a measure of - the wide variety of matters cov- ered by the Section's charter of responsibilities. This scope is fur- ther exemplified by the educa- tional activities planned for the John R. Rebman remainder of the ABA year, set out to the right of this column. Your particular attention is called to the planned workshop on the Energy Mobilization Board. Resolution of Senate-House differences is not com- plete at this writing but a special ad hoc committee is proceeding to plan an early workshop dealing with the procedures to be utilized by this new federal agency. Similarly, as the legislation establishing an Energy Security Corporation to encourage synthetic fuels development emerges, the Section will quickly ex- amine whether a useful workshop can be developed. The primary publication effort of the Section, the Natural Resources Lawyer, continues to provide the membership with scholarly articles on subjects in the natural resources field. I commend to your reading the review of recent developments in the environmen- tal field which will appear in an upcoming issue. I believe you will find this review to be a valuable research and reference tool. The next major activity of the Section will be the spring meeting of the Council to be held April 24-27, 1980, at the Far Horizons Beach Resort, Sarasota, Florida. A major feature of this meeting will be at- tendance by two federal officials who will provide the Council, officers and committee chairmen with in- sights into recent developments of interest to the Sec- tion. Tentatively scheduled to provide this informa- tion are Mr. Lynn Coleman, General Counsel of the Department of Energy and Mr. Peter R. Steenland, Jr., of the Department of Justice.
